The honest range

Across downtown Toronto in 2026, most full-service weddings land between $30,000 and $80,000 all-in. That spread looks useless until you split it: the venue-plus-food-and-bar core typically runs a third to half of the total, and the rest is photography, flowers, music, attire, and the hundred small decisions nobody budgets for. Couples who blow their budget almost never blow it on the venue — they blow it on the accumulation.

How venue pricing is actually structured

Downtown venues price one of three ways: a flat rental with outside catering (you manage two contracts and a kitchen that isn't there), a rental plus in-house catering (one contract, real kitchen), or a food-and-beverage minimum with no rental at all on prime dates. The third model is how restaurant-anchored venues like ours work on peak Saturdays — you're not paying for the room, you're committing to feeding people properly in it.

The four line items couples miss

• Landmark fees and permits — some heritage and park venues carry city fees the brochure forgets.
• The bar's real shape — a four-hour open bar and a six-hour one are very different numbers. Read the open-bar math before you sign anything.
• Rentals hiding in "raw" spaces — a blank warehouse quote grows chairs, china, and a kitchen build within a week.
• Late-night everything — extra hours, late-night food, staff overtime. If you want the party to run, ask what midnight costs before you fall in love.

Questions that expose the real number

Ask every venue: what does the quoted figure include, what is mandatory that isn't in it, and what did the last three weddings my size actually spend?
