The paperwork, quickly

A marriage licence comes from any Ontario city hall, costs about what a nice dinner does, and is valid for three months — get it inside the window, not before. You need two witnesses and an officiant registered in Ontario. That's the entire legal core; everything else is a party.

The sequence that keeps you sane

Venue first, because the date comes from the venue and every other vendor books against the date.
